Round the Office Roundup

May, 17, 2017 | Roundups | 0 Comments

Welcome back to another Digital Pacific Office Roundup! First and foremost, if you are a Windows computer user and you’ve missed the news lately, we summed up the need-to-know points about the latest wide-spread cyber security attack, Wannacry, here. We recently hosted a tour around our very own data centre for staff who were yet to visit, so that they could see where the magic happens in our state of the art facility. You can follow in their footsteps with the image gallery below! A few special occasions have passed since our last roundup! One of our rather trusting Engineers, Matt, let…

You Really Don’t Wannacry

May, 16, 2017 | Community | 0 Comments

It’s been an interesting week in the world of cyber security as we’ve watched the Wannacry ransomware outbreak burst into mainstream attention. All Digital Pacific clients with Windows services have been notified and hand-checked by our SysAdmin team. We strongly urge all customers using Windows computers at home to ensure their system is up to date. This particular vulnerability was patched by Microsoft in March 2017, which they provided via Windows Updates. If your computer is completely up to date, there should be no cause for concern. Wannacry can stop you from using any affected Windows Desktop PC or Windows Server, or prevent…

The Digital Pacific Data Center Staff Tour

May, 03, 2017 | Cloud Hosting | 3 Comments

Last Friday, we sent the invite round to our team to see who’d like to check out our state of the art data centre, located right here in Sydney CBD. While most of our staff have visited the facility before, we thought our new Anchor family, along with more recent additions to the Digital Pacific tech support team, would be up for a look around! Follow along below with the crew as they tour our data centre with our Head of Innovation, Daniel, who along with exhibiting a slightly inexplicable obsession with robots, was deeply involved in the design and build…

Round the Office Roundup

It’s hard to know where to begin! Since our last roundup, we’ve had some major (exciting!) announcements. Just before we delve in, a quick reminder to Instagram users to click the image to the right/below and hit the follow button! Alright, onward with the news! Digital Pacific acquires Anchor (and moves in!) The family has grown! Digital Pacific recently acquired Anchor Hosting. Anchor are a Sydney-based provider of AWS and cloud hosting services. We created an info-graphic with more information here! The acquisition also saw us move from our Circular Quay office to join Anchor in their spacious CBD office just…

We’ve moved!

Apr, 18, 2017 | Company News | 0 Comments

We’ve migrated south for the winter for good! By a whopping 1.5 kilometers, no less. But in all seriousness, we have indeed moved! If you haven’t already heard, Digital Pacific recently acquired Anchor Hosting. Anchor were living all alone in a very large office in the heart of the CBD, just a short stroll from our existing Circular Quay office which we were rapidly growing out of. As so, it made all kinds of sense for us to take our relationship to the next level and move in. Over the course of 3-4 weeks during March, all of our staff moved across…

A quick heads up to users of the iPhone Mail app & Windows Mail

Apr, 11, 2017 | Support | 0 Comments

We’ve recently updated the SSL certificates across our shared hosting server fleet, which we’ve found to be resulting in issues for some users of the two above programs which may sometimes no longer allow the user to manually trust SSL certificates that don’t match the mailserver. This appears to affect existing accounts more commonly than new accounts. What does that mean? To elaborate further, all of our servers have an SSL certificate installed. This SSL certificate is shared across all users of the server, and registered to the server’s hostname. For the examples below, we will assume the hostname of…
