50mb of storage space
This is web space that is reserved on our server for your email and hosting account.
- From your control panel you can view and manage your current usage
- If you start to reach the limit of your web space we will send you an email giving you the option to delete old and unused files, add more space to your existing account or upgrade to our next plan, there is no cost of an upgrade other than the difference in the price of the Plans.
5 GB of monthly transfer
This is the amount of data transferred to and from your site. Data transfer is measured when ever someone visits your website or sends you an email.
- 5gb is approximately 5,000mb; 1 Mb (approx. 1,000,000 bytes), 1 Gb (approx. 1,000 Mb)
- 15,000mb of web traffic will support around 10,000 page views per month, which is more than enough for most web sites.
- An average email that is sent is around 59 kilobytes. This equates to 16 emails per mb, meaning you could send around 32,000 emails per month on this plan, which no one generally does, before reaching your limit.
No Setup Costs
Digital Pacific does not charge a set up fee for any Plan, the only cost you pay for is the cost of the Plan or the domain name.

Domain Features
Use your own domain or purchase one from us
There are a few options in regards to domain names, see below.
- You can use your own domain name that you have purchased from any registrar; you can even leave the billing and management of that domain name to the domain registrar of your choice and just point it to our servers, making your domain name fully operational on our servers.
- If you like you can also transfer your domain that you have purchased from another registrar to us so you can have the domain name and hosting in one billing account.

Support for ALL domain extensions
With all of our hosting accounts you can host ANY domain name extension. Eg. .com.au, .net.au, .cn, .ae, .com, .net .org, .info. The list goes on ...
Unlimited domain aliases / pointers
Have more than 1 domain name? With this feature you can have a number of domain names pointing to the same web space. Eg www.joesfood.com.au www.joesfinefood.com.au and www.joesprovodores.com can all go to the same web site.
Domain forwarding
Domain forwarding (also called URL redirection) allows you to redirect web requests for your domain name to a site hosted on a different server (such as the free web space your ISP may provide).
For example if you already have a website such as (http://users.your-isp.net.au/~your-user-name) you will be able to access it via a short domain based URL such as http://www.yourbusinessname.com.
View your site with or without the WWW.
This feature allows your potential visitors to visit your site with or without the WWW. Eg. digitalpacific.com.au or www.digitalpacific.com.au. Many people these days don?t type the www and hey why should you?
5 subdomains
Subdomains allow you to create domains such as http://sales.mycompany.com.au and http://widgets.mycompany.com.au . This is a useful feature for search engines as they are considered to be separate domain names, giving you more exposure and increase your click through rate.
Email Features
2 email accounts
This allows you to create email addresses with your domain name extension, for example if your domain name is www.petstoreworld.com.au and your name is Lisa you could have an email address like lisa@petstoreworld.com.au
- This account comes with 2 email addresses. Perfect for a business start up.
- All accounts can be checked via web mail or your favorite email client.
Mailing list (Majordomo)
A mailing list is an email newsletter that is sent out to your customers on a regular basis to keep them informed of what you have on offer, it could be anything from weekly specials to what bands are playing at the pub this weekend.
- Newsletters have been proven to increase sales dramatically.
Web mail Access
This feature allows you to check your email when you are away from the home or office, simply type www.yourdomain.com.au/webmail and you can log in to your email account in the same way you would utilise your Hotmail or Yahoo! account.
- Each email account user you create from your control panel has access to their own webmail account, great for when you are on holidays.
IMAP support
IMAP stands for Internet Message Access Protocol. It is a method of accessing email messages that are kept on a mail server. In other words, it permits a "client" email program to access remote message stores as if they were local. For example, email stored on an IMAP server can be manipulated from a desktop computer at home, a workstation at the office, and a notebook computer while traveling, without the need to transfer messages or files back and forth between these computers.
- Each email account you create has access to IMAP, you need to configure support for this in your email client.
Full SMTP/ POP Access
All accounts have POP 3 and SMTP activated, so you can check your email from your preferred email client such as Eudora, Outlook, Outlook Express, Pocket PC, PDA or any other POP3 email program.
Outlook, Eudora, Entourage, Thunderbird support
You can check your email from ANY email client on any computer running any operating system, Windows, Mac, UNIX or Linux.
Unlimited Email aliases
An email alias is simply a forwarding e-mail address. Each e-mail alias you create simply forwards e-mail on to any e-mail address that you specify. E-mail aliases are often used to create handy replacements for long or difficult-to-remember e-mail addresses. They can also be used to create generic e-mail addresses such as webmaster@yourcompany.com and info@yourcompany.com.
Unlimited Auto responders
Auto responders automatically respond to anyone that sends mail to it. They have many uses including vacation notices. If you had a vacation auto responder for instance, you could turn it on when you go on holidays, and anyone that sends mail to your address while you're gone will get an immediate response stating that you are away.
Unlimited Email Forwarding
This feature allows you to automatically forward your email to another address such as a Hotmail, Bigpond, Optusnet or Yahoo! account.
- The administrator can forward any users email account to another account or each email user can configure email forwarding themselves from their own user control panel.
MX record pointing on request
Some customers want to run their own mail server in-house. If this is the case for you, we can alter your MX record any IP address. Information on how to do this is available via our support pages.
Catch all account
Never miss an email with this feature. If someone sends you an email and spells your name wrong you will still get the email in your inbox.
anything@yourdomain.com.au will be delivered to you. You will be surprised by the amount of email received using this feature. This feature is disabled by default and can be activated from within your control panel.
Account Management
Web based Account manager for invoices.
You can use the online account manager to view and print past and current invoices, make payments, upgrade or downgrade your account and update other information all in real time.
Web based file manager
If you don?t have access to an FTP program, then the web based file manager is what you are after. It allows you to upload your website via a browser, manage and create files and directories, edit your source code and perform other file related activities.
DNS Management
On request we can change any DNS record to any IP address of your choice.
SSL Management
This allows you to install an SSL certificate purchased from a Secure Certificate provider. SSL certificates are used when sending sensitive information such as credit card information over the internet.
- You can only install a certificate if you have purchased a static IP address from us. Please see our support pages for more information.
Password protect directories
With this feature you can password protect directories. This is good for sharing files within your organisation or community.

Unlimited FTP Access
FTP stands for File Transfer Protocol. This is the method in which you transfer or upload your website from your home or work PC to our servers.

Graphical Statistics reporting
With Webalizer you can view your web site statistics including the amount of hits per day or month, top entry pages, top exit pages and what link they came from. You can also see what countries are viewing your website. This is a powerful tool that allows you to perform an analysis on your site traffic and "fine tune" your web site for maximum exposure. This is a fantastic application that can help you succeed on the web.
Daily backups
We perform secure daily on-site backups at the end of each day and weekly offsite backups to ensure no loss of data.
- We use Dell Network Attached Storage (NAS) devices over a private Gigabit network to achieve this.
- Customers can, at any time, ask for their web space to be restored to an earlier point if they have lost any data.
Log file access
Access your log files to find out information about which pages, images, and files are requested, who requests them, and how many bytes are transferred. These log files can be imported to a separate software package that can give you a complete breakdown and analysis of your web site and how it is performing. They can give you an idea on how to "fine tune" your site to ensure maximum exposure on the web.

Dell Dual Xeon Hardware
Digital Pacific use all high quality Dell hardware, which are the at the same standard as what the major banks use in Australia. You can rest assured that your data is safe and will always be available.
2000mb Server RAM (Minimum)
All servers have a minimum of 2000 Mb of server grade (EEC) RAM. We always upgrade if we feel a server needs more.
Raid 5 setup (arrayed Hard Drives)
RAID refers to a data storage scheme using multiple hard drives to share or replicate data among the drives, so if one or two hard drives fail the server keeps running. We have never had a server failure thanks to this setup. Many hosting companies place customer?s websites on one hard drive, which is bad if that drive fails.
Red Hat Enterprise OS
Red Hat Enterprise is a world class operating system that larger companies use for mission-critical/enterprise application. We feel this operating system is the best for web hosting due to the support contracts we have in place with Red Hat.
Redundant power supplies
All of our servers include two separate power supply units within them, each of which is capable of powering the entire system by itself. If, for some reason, there is a failure in one of the units, the other one will seamlessly take over to prevent the loss of power to the PC. A Digital Pacific technician will then replace the faulty unit all without your site ever going offline.
