• From your control panel you can view and manage your current usage.
• If you start to reach the limit of your web space we will send you an email giving you the option to delete old and unused files, add more space to your existing account or upgrade to our next plan. There is no cost of an upgrade other than the difference in the price of the plans.

This is the amount of data transferred to and from your site. Data transfer is a measurement of all traffic such as when ever someone visits your website or sends you an email.

• 10 GB is approximately 10,000 MB;
  1 MB (approx. 1,000,000 bytes), 1 GB (approx. 1,000 MB)
• 10,000 MB of web traffic will support around 400,000 page views per month, which is more than enough for most web sites.
• An average email that is sent is around 59 kilobytes. This equates to 16 emails per MB, meaning you could send around 160,000 emails per month on this plan before reaching your limit.

• You can transfer your domain that you have purchased from another provider to Digital Pacific. Having your domain name and hosting under the billing account is often preffered by our customers.

• Leave your existing domain name where it is and simply change the name servers. This will leave the billing and management with your existing domain provider however, the domain will be fully operational on our servers.

Have more than 1 domain name? With this feature you can have a number of domain names pointing to the same web space. Eg www.joesfood.com.au www.joesfinefood.com.au and www.joesprovodores.com can all go to the same web site.

Domain forwarding (also called URL redirection) allows you to redirect web requests for your domain name to a site hosted on a different server (such as the free web space your ISP may provide).

For example if you already have a website such as (http://users.your-isp.net.au/~your-user-name) you will be able to access it via a short domain based URL such as http://www.yourchosendomainname.com.au . More information on Domain Forwarding can be found here.

A mailing list is an email newsletter that is sent out to your customers on a regular basis to keep them informed of what you have on offer. It could be anything from weekly specials to what bands are playing at the pub this weekend.

Mailman is free software for managing electronic mail discussion and e-newsletter lists. Mailman is integrated with cPanel, making it easy for users to manage their accounts and for list owners to administer their lists. Mailman supports built-in archiving, automatic bounce processing, content filtering, digest delivery, spam filters, and more.

All accounts can be accessed via webmail using any of the following web based programs which are automatically accessible once your control panel has been set up.

IMAP stands for Internet Message Access Protocol. It is a method of accessing email messages that are kept on a mail server. In other words, it permits a "client" email program to access remote message stores as if they were local. For example, email stored on an IMAP server can be manipulated from a desktop computer at home, a workstation at the office, and a notebook computer while traveling, without the need to transfer messages or files back and forth between these computers.

• Each email account you create has access to IMAP, you need to configure support for this in your email client.

All accounts have POP3 and SMTP activated, so you can check your email from your preferred email client including Outlook, Outlook Express, Thunderbird, Entourage, Eudora, Apple Mail, Pocket PC, PDA, iPhone, Android, Blackberry or any other POP3 email program.

You can check your email from ANY email client on any computer running any operating system, Windows, Mac, UNIX or Linux.

Common email clients: Outlook, Thunderbird, Apple Mail, Windows Live Mail, Outlook Express, Entourage and Eudora.

• All email accounts that you set up have spam filtering automatically enabled. The administrator control panel allows you to configure and manage spam filtering options.
• In cPanel each email user has their own control panel for additional email functionality. The user control panel allows you to configure and manage spam filtering options.

Auto Responders allow you to send a message in response to incoming email automatically. Auto Responders can be configured via the control panel.

An application included with cPanel that filters spam by requiring would-be senders to reply to a verification email (also known as challenge-response verification). Only after the sender is verified through the reply will his or her original email be accepted.

• BoxTrapper Blacklist: A list of email addresses from which incoming mail will be automatically blocked. cPanel automatically sends a configurable warning message upon receipt of mail from a blacklisted address.
• BoxTrapper Ignore List: A list of email addresses from which incoming mail will be blocked. cPanel does not send a warning message upon receipt of mail from an ignored address.
• BoxTrapper Whitelist: A list of email addresses from which incoming mail will automatically be accepted.

This feature allows you to automatically forward your email to another address such as a Gmail, Hotmail, Bigpond, Optusnet or Yahoo!. You can use one account to check mail sent to several email addresses.

• The administrator can forward any users email account to another account.
• Each email user can also configure email forwarding themselves from their own user control panel.

The File Manager is cPanel's built-in web application for managing and manipulating your website's files from your personal computer.

On request we can change and modify any DNS record of your choice.

The SSL and TLS features are intended to make your website more secure. These features generate and manage SSL certificates, signing requests, and keys. This is useful for websites that will use logins and credit card numbers, since information will be sent to and from your website over the Internet as encrypted data versus plain text. This makes it difficult for malicious users to intercept communications between visitors and your website.

Raw Access Logs allow you to see who has accessed your site without the use of graphs, charts or other graphics. You can use the Raw Access Logs menu to download a zipped version of the server's access log for your site. This can be very useful when you need to see who is accessing your site quickly.

Along with our automated daily R1soft backups you can also create your own backups in real-time before performing a website upgrade.

Backups allow you to download (to your computer) a zipped copy of either you entire site (your home directory, databases, email forwarders configuration, email filters configuration) or one of the previously mentioned parts of your site. These are not automatically scheduled backups. Automatically scheduled backups need to be enabled by the server owner.

Cron jobs allow you to automate certain commands or scripts on your site. You can set a command or script to run at a specific time every day, week, etc. For example, you could set a cron job to delete temporary files every week so that your disk space is not being used up by those files.

You can access your web space via SSH. This is only for advanced users and all SSH activity is logged and monitored.

Perl modules are collections of functions that allow you to perform tasks in Perl. You will need to install a Perl module before you can use it inside a Perl program.

PEAR packages are collections of functions that allow you to perform tasks in PHP. You will need to install a PEAR package before you can use it inside a PHP program.

Frontpage Extensions allow you to publish your site directly from the FrontPage application. This means that you will not have to upload files through FTP.

Zend optimizer is a PHP accelerator which is required by many PHP applications.

ImageMagick is a software suite to create, edit, and compose bitmap images. It can read, convert and write images in a variety of formats.

GD is an open source library for the dynamic creation of images by programmers.

With HTTP streaming media support you can stream multimedia content in a number of standardised formats.
