Frequently Asked Questions

Questions about Digital Pacific Reseller Programs

1. What is a web hosting reseller?
A reseller is someone who sells Digital Pacific web hosting services under his/her own name. Resellers are responsible for all billing and support issues of their own customers, while we support the reseller. They have the ability to create their own hosting plans and pricing scale to suit their business needs.

2. How much does it cost to become a reseller?
Apart from the monthly fee, there are no setup fees or minimum signup requirements to become a Digital Pacific Value-Added Reseller.

3. As a reseller, how much control will I have over my accounts?
As a reseller, you can activate, delete, suspend, resume, upgrade or downgrade accounts. We give you total control over your resold accounts, all of which you can manage from your special admin control panel. From here, you have the ability to allocate disk space as necessary, and even upload your company logo so all of your clients will see it within their own panels.

4. Do I need to be a Unix/Linux pro in order to act as a reseller?
Not at all! We will provide you with a unique graphical interface for that very reason. You can administer everything you need easily and directly through the web control panel.

5. Do my clients get a control panel?
Yes. All of your client domains get their own separate control panel for their account, each of which will display your company logo upon login. Digital Pacific's name will be anonymous throughout all interactions.

6. Do I have to arrange the transfer of domain names?
As a reseller, you must inform your new clients to go to their domain registry and redirect their domain names to Digital Pacific’s nameservers, which are ns1.digitalpacific.com.au and ns2.digitalpacific.com.au.

7. How long will it take for my reseller account to be set up?
All accounts are set up within 12 hours of the purchase being verified.

8. Can I upgrade my reseller account type in the future?
Yes, you can easily upgrade your account anytime.

9. Will you contact my clients?
No, we will never contact your clients. We remain in the background and anonymous to your clients in order to protect your business image. However, if we do find any account violating our terms and conditions, we will suspend it immediately and notify you in the process. It is your responsibility to make sure these terms and conditions are not being violated by your clients, in addition to providing them with proper billing and technical support.

10. Will Digital Pacific provide any support to my customers?
You are responsible for supporting your customers. Digital Pacific only offers support services to you, the reseller. We also provide resellers with an extensive Online Manual that we encourage the implementation of within your own website for further client support. We do not allow resellers to forward clients to our website for any support issue, and if a reseller is not able to resolve a problem on their own, an email must be sent by the reseller to Digital Pacific. We will respond to that support enquiry, which can then be used to respond to the client.

11. What if I go over storage space? Will I be sent a charge?
We regularly audit reseller accounts. When someone gets close to, or over, his/her storage space limit, we send them a notification email with options for a larger account.

12. What kind of guarantee does Digital Pacific offer?
Digital Pacific offers the same 30 Day Money Back Guarantee to our resellers as we offer to all of our normal clients.

13. Do I have to promote my own web hosting services?
Yes, you must promote your own operations. We do not assist you in the marketing of your reseller business.

14. Must my clients meet Digital Pacific's terms and conditions, or can I make my own?
As a reseller, you are responsible for your customers' actions and monitoring if they meet our terms and conditions. You can simply copy our terms and conditions onto your own site, replacing our company name with your own. We encourage all resellers to take this seriously.
