We invest heavily in our infrastructure and use Dell Servers, Blades and storage SAN's across our entire fleet, We do not build white label servers as many hosting companies do, we can save a lot of money by going down this path, however we prefer to utilise proven technology which has been responsible for the high level of reliability we have sustained for the last 12 years. Using one brand of hardware allows us to easily manage and maintain the hardware using the Dell OMSA and DRAC (Dell Remote Access Controller) systems. This software alerts us to issues with hardware before it fails allowing us to act quick and replace it before the server becomes unresponsive. We allow customers who have dedicated servers with us to take advantage of some of these tools as well such as the DRAC's
OpenManage Server Administrator allows us to administer and manage our servers in two ways: from an integrated, Web browser-based graphical user interface (GUI) or from a command-line interface (CLI) through the operating system. OMSA is designed for system administrators to manage systems locally and remotely on a network.
With powerful, remote management and configuration options, DRAC alerts us to server problems, enables streamlined remote server management, and reduces or eliminates the need for us to physically visit the server - even when the server is not operational. DRAC enables anywhere, anytime remote management, system reboots, monitoring, troubleshooting, remediation and server upgrades, independent of the OS status. In other words, no Operating System is required to perform system tasks with the DRAC and the server doesn't even need to be powered on.
All dedicated servers provided by us include a DRAC at no cost, this is one of many features that you won't find at other dedicated server companies.
Digital Pacific operates services in five Data Centres around the globe with primary services hosted in Sydney, Australia and redundant infrastructure services in other locations. Sydney is the largest corporate and financial centre in Australia. Sydney is also the major interconnection point for international traffic traversing to and from Australia.
Each data centre operates N+1 across all critical infrastructure with regular testing and maintanance.
We utilise carrier grade equipment from Juniper Networks and Cisco from the borders of our network down to the server access layer. Connecting servers out to the internet we have multiple gigabit IP transit and peering links with our subnets always advertised to a minimum of two providers.
We carefully choose providers based on route selection and reliability.
We are available for private peering or cross connects in Equinix SY1/SY2, and Vocus Sydney DC.
Private links are available from your office directly to your server with us in the major Australian business districts.
When you use any of our services, we provide you with our worldwide redundant DNS locations at no extra cost. All DNS servers are constantly replicated around the world within seconds. If one of our DNS servers was to fault it would automatically fail over to the next one. This is a reason some of Australia's largest companies utilise Digital Pacific DNS.
Our DNS Server locations are below:
- ns1.digitalpacific.com.au (Sydney - Australia)
- ns2.digitalpacific.com.au (Brisbane - Australia)
- ns3.digitalpacific.com (San Jose - USA)
- ns4.digitalpacific.com (Amsterdam - Netherlands)
When you purchase a custom dedicated server from us, we allow you to configure it as if you owned it. The only restrictions on hardware are what the manufacturer puts on them.
Need more RAM? No problems we can install ram for you, you can add this to the server as you grow down the track so there is no initial upfront investment for hardware that you are not using. Contact us for more information or for a RAM upgrade.
Need better CPU's? Just because we may not list CPU's on our website does not mean we can't offer them to you, just contact us and see what we can do for you. There is also an option to upgrade to better CPU's later on if your website or application becomes popular. CPU upgrades are available to supported hardware
Our dedicated servers have the ability to run many operating systems such as Windows Server and a wide variety of Linux distributions.
*Based on RAM amounts.
There are many options available in regards to the hard drives used within our servers.
sSAN Storage - Shared SAN
dDAS - Dedicated DAS

We use high grade RAM (Random Access Memory) in our servers to ensure maximum speed and performance. Our RAM levels are as seen below:
We take backups seriously at Digital Pacific, and you should too. We provide a range of backup plans should you require them, all of which are hosted on our secure and up to date backup servers.

As with all server providers, Dedicated Servers do not come with any server management by default.
Managed dedicated server plans are typically designed for those who don't have a system administrator either in-house or at call and require specific needs, that are not supported within a shared hosting environment. With a Managed dedicated server, Digital Pacific can configure the set up your server and help with additional support you may require.
Digital Pacific offers servers in two types:
Self Managed is where you install the updates and configure all aspects of the server yourself such as Firewall’s, IDS, patches and updates.
We still assist in the Initial Setup which includes (Server Provisioning):
Any other configuration and day to day management problems or issues will be handled by the customer directly and it is not covered under some service levels. If you would like us to troubleshoot issues (not outlined above), this will be charged at $95/hr. Basically, any issue that is is not mentioned above will be charged under custom support.
Any application level issues will be quoted individually based upon the issue or task type.
Furthermore, all third party software specific support is to be obtained directly from the relevant software vendor by the customer.
Fully Managed Servers include:
Managed dedicated server customers can opt in to having a few additional security features installed as part of the management process. ModSecurity, Suhosin and ConfigServer Security&Firewall applications are a great first step in securing your server when utilising the cPanel control panel software, and we can assist with installing these as part of your managed solution. We also have an additional, more advanced server hardening service that can lock your server down even further and offer additional upload and email protections.
Most of our dedicated server customers use software firewalls such as IPtables, which is fine for most people but for the security conscious people it sometimes makes sense to use both software firewalls and hardware firewalls. As an add-on service to your dedicated server you can opt to use one of our Juniper SRX series firewalls that we reserve for dedicated customers only. These firewalls have the ability to create virtual firewalls so we can put a number of different customers on the same firewall and give each user access to manage it via an interface. If you want your own dedicated firewall please contact us and we can sort something out for you. We are very flexible.
