Tips for Using Our Affiliate Program

Do you have a website or a newsletter? If so, you could be using these items in conjunction with the Digital Pacific affiliate program to earn some extra cash each month!

Affiliate programs make it so easy for people to earn rewards. Did you know that the Digital Pacific program offers a $25 payout for each person you refer and buys hosting? That means that any person that clicks on your affiliate link or banner and then proceeds to purchase web hosting actually earns you money in the process. For some, this is just simple work.

For others, it might prove a bit frustrating. While this program is essentially easy to set up, to be truly successful there has to be a little thought involved. For example, just having a text link on your website might get you a few clicks here and there, but by having the link in a special location (e.g. one that talks about how the website is made possible) on the website can get you more targeted clicks and better conversion rates.

With that in mind, here are some tips for using our affiliate program to make some extra cash!

  1. Use the banners. Obviously the images are more likely to get noticed as they stand out more than just a normal text link. However, a text link when used in the right place and context can be just as effective, if not more. Perhaps you have a nice website and people often ask you how you made it, then perhaps you can add that information to a frequently asked questions page. When you tell how you got your fabulous website, you can also mention that you get your hosting through Digital Pacific, being sure to include the affiliate link. In this way, you are able to achieve a more targeted method of marketing as people wanting to perhaps create a website already are the ones more likely to find this link.
  2. Email the links. Use the built-in system in your affiliate tracking dashboard to email your affiliate link to up to 5 friends at a time! Know someone that is thinking about starting an online business or even just a personal blog? Just type in their email address, and let the system do the rest for you. Our program makes it easy to make use of your contact list, and hopefully earn some affiliate cash in the process.
  3. Rotate links and track the clicks. Placement on a website is basically just like product placement in the shops. Items that are placed at eye-level in the aisles are more likely to be noticed and purchased; the same goes for information on a website. Generally, items located above the “fold” of the website are going to be of more interest to web visitors. What this means is that anything visible on the web page before the need to scroll down to view more is actually “above the fold”. In marketing terms, it just makes sense, so rotating and testing is recommended if you would like to improve your affiliate link and banner clicks.

To do this, you may want to place a link on a web page in a certain location. For a week, or a month, be sure to track how many referral clicks you get from that web page while looking in your affiliate tracking dashboard. Then, place the link in a different location and track for the same amount of time. Note the changes and choose whichever works best for you.

If you have had a good experience with Digital Pacific in the past, and often tell others about where you get your web hosting, then you would make a perfect affiliate. To easily sign up and learn more, please visit our Affiliate Program page.
